Carved Wild Harvested Tagua Seed Subang Hoop Earrings

A pair of carved, wild-harvested Tagua seed Subang hoop earrings showcase the pure white and hard surface of the Tagua seed that is nearly identical to ivory. Offset and complimented with a dark Areng Ebony wood rim, the design for these earrings is inspired by traditional Balinese design motifs of Kayonan, The Tree of Life and the shape of the Kalabubu , the Nias headhunters of Indonesia warrior necklace.

Prolific internal carvings in 22 karat yellow gold are inspired by the symbolic practices and techniques in ancient Balinese gold work, where design motifs feature vines, leaves and tendrils that entwine temples while mythical creatures peer out from moss-covered walls. Found in temples all over Bali, the Padmasana, or Lotus flower is a representation of the cosmos and symbolizes purity of the body, speech, and mind. Earrings measure 57mm x 42mm (2.2 Inches x 1.6 Inches), and are set on 22 karat gold Alexandra Mor logo gallery.

Limited edition of 5. Signed by the artist. Hand carved and crafted with love and ancient wisdom in Bali.
